Terms and scope
Terms for OTTA services.
These terms explain the scope, ordering process, delivery, hosting, payments, cancellations and service responsibilities for OTTA written reviews, website projects and WordPress hosting services.
1. Trader information
Who provides the service?
OTTA is a registered Irish business name operated by Thomas Thiel as a sole trader.
- Business name: OTTA
- Owner: Thomas Thiel
- Business type: Sole trader
- CRO business name number: 790259
- Business address: 460 Aisling Park, Dundalk, County Louth, A91 X4E4, Ireland
- Email: [email protected]

2. When these terms apply
These terms apply to OTTA services.
These terms apply when you purchase a written review through the OTTA website, accept a written proposal for a website project or enter into an agreement for an OTTA hosting service.
The relevant product page, written quotation, project proposal, hosting plan description or separate data-processing agreement forms part of the agreement where applicable.
If a written proposal or separate service agreement contains terms that are more specific than this page, those specific terms take priority for that service.
3. Written reviews
A written review, not live support.
OTTA written reviews currently include:
- Small Website Improvement Review
- Home Server Setup Check
- Home Assistant Setup Review
OTTA reviews the information you submit and provides a written report covering relevant weak points, risks, priorities and practical next steps.
Written reviews do not include:
- Live troubleshooting
- Telephone or video support
- Emergency support
- Password sharing
- Remote access
- Direct changes to your website or system
- A complete rebuild or installation
- Managed IT or ongoing support
- Guaranteed repairs, rankings, traffic or other results
4. Website projects
Website creation is a separately scoped service.
New WordPress and WooCommerce websites are provided as individually scoped projects. They are not included in a written website review or hosting plan unless expressly stated.
A website project begins only after OTTA has issued a written proposal, the customer has accepted it and any required initial payment has been received.
The proposal will normally define:
- The pages and features included
- The project price and payment stages
- The expected project timeline
- The content and information the customer must provide
- The number or scope of included revisions
- The proposed hosting arrangement, where applicable
- Any services or costs that are not included
Work outside the agreed scope may require a revised quotation or an additional written agreement.
5. Hosting services
Hosting is available only for eligible websites.
OTTA currently offers Essential WordPress Hosting and Managed WordPress Hosting & Care.
Hosting is available for websites created by OTTA and selected existing WordPress websites that meet OTTA’s technical and operational requirements.
OTTA may decline to host a website or require corrective work before accepting it where the website is insecure, outdated, resource-intensive, compromised, unlawfully operated or dependent on unsupported software.
Existing websites may require a separate technical review, migration, malware assessment, repair or setup quotation before hosting begins.
6. Essential WordPress Hosting
A limited hosting and technical-support service.
Essential WordPress Hosting is intended for small, straightforward WordPress websites.
The plan normally includes:
- A separate hosting account
- Hosting for one eligible WordPress website
- SSL certificate support
- Server-side backup availability
- Uptime monitoring
- Basic WordPress core maintenance
- Basic hosting, DNS and SSL support
- An email response target of two business days
The plan does not normally include:
- Routine manual plugin and theme maintenance
- Content changes or new pages
- New website functionality
- Plugin repair
- Malware removal
- WooCommerce or membership support
- Emergency or out-of-hours support
7. Managed WordPress Hosting & Care
Managed care includes defined routine maintenance.
Managed WordPress Hosting & Care includes the core hosting services provided under Essential Hosting together with a limited routine-maintenance service.
The plan normally includes:
- Routine WordPress plugin and theme updates
- Basic checks following important updates
- Backup availability checks
- Restoration from an available backup where appropriate
- Basic security monitoring
- Initial technical fault investigation
- An email response target of one business day
The plan does not normally include:
- New pages, content or design changes
- New features or custom development
- WooCommerce or membership support unless agreed
- Extensive third-party plugin repair
- Malware remediation beyond the agreed scope
- A guaranteed fix within the response period
- 24/7 or guaranteed emergency response
8. Response targets and availability
A response target is not a guaranteed resolution time.
Hosting support is provided by email during normal OTTA business operations.
A response target refers to the period in which OTTA aims to acknowledge or begin assessing a support request. It does not guarantee that the underlying issue will be resolved within that period.
Resolution time may depend on the nature of the fault, customer cooperation, third-party providers, DNS propagation, software vendors or access to backups.
OTTA does not provide a continuously staffed helpdesk, telephone hotline, guaranteed uptime service level or 24-hour emergency service unless expressly agreed in writing.
9. Hosting capacity and fair use
Hosting is subject to reasonable technical limits.
Hosting plans are intended for normal small-business WordPress websites and are subject to reasonable storage, bandwidth, database, email and resource limits.
OTTA may contact the customer if a website uses materially more resources than expected, affects other hosted services or exceeds the capacity suitable for the selected plan.
In that situation, OTTA may propose optimisation work, a larger hosting plan, migration to a specialist provider or another reasonable technical solution.
OTTA will not knowingly host unlawful content, spam operations, malicious software, prohibited material, unauthorised copyrighted content or services that breach the hosting provider’s acceptable use rules.
10. Backups and restoration
Backups reduce risk but do not eliminate it.
Hosting plans may include access to server-side backups and, where stated, backup availability checks or restoration assistance.
Backups are subject to the capabilities, retention periods and availability of the underlying hosting and backup systems.
OTTA does not guarantee that every version of every file, database, mailbox or configuration can always be recovered.
A restoration may replace newer website data with an older backup. Where practical, OTTA will explain this risk before carrying out a restoration.
Customers should retain independent copies of irreplaceable business content, original photographs, documents, product data and other important records.
11. Updates and third-party software
Updates may occasionally create compatibility problems.
WordPress websites rely on WordPress core, themes, plugins and services supplied by third parties.
OTTA will use reasonable care when performing included updates but cannot guarantee that every update will be compatible with every website component.
If an update causes a problem, OTTA may attempt a reasonable rollback, restoration or initial investigation where this is included in the selected plan.
Extensive repair, replacement of abandoned software, licence purchase or custom development may be quoted separately.
12. Domains and ownership
The customer should remain the domain registrant.
Unless otherwise agreed, the customer should remain the legal registrant and owner of their domain name.
OTTA may assist with registration, DNS configuration or renewal, but the customer remains responsible for supplying accurate registrant information and paying applicable registration or renewal charges.
Domain registration and renewal depend on third-party registrars and registry rules. OTTA cannot guarantee that a requested domain will be available or that a domain can be recovered after expiry.
The customer must promptly inform OTTA of changes to relevant business, billing or registrant information.
13. Email services
Email may be separate from website hosting.
Email hosting, mailbox migration, device setup and troubleshooting are not automatically included in a website or hosting plan unless expressly stated.
Customers must tell OTTA before any domain or hosting migration if email is connected to the current hosting account.
OTTA is not responsible for undisclosed email services, configurations or mailboxes that are affected by a DNS or hosting change.
Email delivery may also depend on external providers, spam filters, recipient systems and DNS records outside OTTA’s direct control.
14. Information you provide
Provide complete and accurate information.
OTTA relies on the information, screenshots, links, files and explanations you provide.
You are responsible for ensuring that submitted information is accurate and that you have permission to share it.
Do not send the following through an intake form or ordinary email:
- Passwords
- Private tokens
- API keys
- Private keys
- Recovery codes
- Full configuration backups
.envfiles- Bank or payment-card details
- Remote-access credentials
- Unnecessary sensitive personal information
Screenshots and configuration examples should be checked before submission so that confidential values are hidden.
If credentials are accidentally disclosed, you should revoke or replace them immediately.
15. Access for projects and hosting
Access is agreed separately when necessary.
Written reviews do not require remote access.
A website project, migration or hosting service may require access to an existing website, hosting account, domain account, analytics platform or related service.
Temporary or separately created access accounts should be used where possible. Access should be limited to what is necessary and may be removed after the relevant work is completed.
The customer is responsible for keeping their own account recovery methods and current contact details available.
16. Data protection and hosting
Hosting may involve processing personal data.
A hosted website may process personal data through contact forms, customer accounts, analytics, orders, bookings or other features.
The customer normally remains responsible for deciding why and how personal data is collected through their website and for providing suitable privacy information to website users.
Where OTTA processes personal data on behalf of the customer as part of a hosting or maintenance service, the parties may need to enter into a separate data-processing agreement.
The customer must inform OTTA before using a hosted website to process special-category data, large volumes of personal data or information requiring unusual security or regulatory measures.
OTTA may decline hosting that creates risk or compliance requirements beyond the agreed service.
17. Delivery of written reviews
The delivery period starts after all required details arrive.
A written review is normally delivered within 5 working days after OTTA has received all required information through the relevant intake form.
If important information is missing, unclear or unusable, the delivery period begins after the missing information has been provided.
OTTA may ask reasonable follow-up questions before completing the review.
Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and Irish public holidays.
OTTA will contact you if an unexpected delay is likely to affect delivery.
18. Website project timelines
Website timelines depend on the agreed project.
The expected timeline for a website project will be stated in the written proposal or agreed separately in writing.
The timeline may be affected if required text, images, approvals, account access or other customer-supplied information is delayed.
A delay caused by missing customer information does not count as an OTTA delivery delay.
19. Hosting commencement
Hosting starts after acceptance, payment and setup.
A hosting service begins only after OTTA has confirmed eligibility, the customer has accepted the applicable terms and the required payment has been received.
Where migration is required, the hosting billing period may begin from the agreed setup or migration date stated in the proposal.
DNS changes and domain propagation can take time and may temporarily affect website or email availability.
20. Hosting payments and renewal
Hosting is paid in advance.
Hosting services are normally billed monthly or annually in advance at the agreed rate.
The applicable price and billing period will be confirmed before the hosting service begins.
Monthly plans may require an agreed recurring-payment method. Annual plans are payable before the new annual service period begins.
Third-party costs such as domains, licences, premium plugins, specialist services or transaction fees may be charged separately.
OTTA may revise hosting prices for a future renewal period by giving reasonable advance notice. A price change does not apply retrospectively to a period already paid for.
21. Late payment and suspension
Unpaid services may be restricted or suspended.
If a hosting payment is overdue, OTTA may send a reminder and allow a reasonable opportunity to correct the missed payment.
If payment remains outstanding, OTTA may restrict support, suspend the hosting service or decline further work.
Suspension does not automatically cancel amounts already due.
Where technically possible and lawful, OTTA will avoid deleting customer data immediately after a missed payment. However, OTTA cannot guarantee indefinite retention of suspended accounts.
22. Hosting cancellation and termination
Hosting may be ended by either side.
The applicable notice period will be stated in the hosting proposal or service agreement.
Unless a different period is agreed, a customer should give at least 30 days’ written notice before the next renewal date.
OTTA may terminate or decline to renew a hosting service where:
- Payments remain overdue
- The website breaches applicable law or acceptable-use rules
- The website creates material security or operational risk
- The customer repeatedly refuses required corrective action
- The service is no longer technically suitable for OTTA hosting
- The customer materially breaches the agreement
Where reasonable, OTTA will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the problem before termination, except where urgent action is necessary to protect systems, data or third parties.
23. Handover after hosting ends
Reasonable migration assistance can be provided.
Before hosting ends, the customer should arrange a new provider and request any required migration information in good time.
Where the account is paid and technically accessible, OTTA may provide a reasonable website backup, available account information or migration assistance.
Migration work, DNS changes, mailbox migration, troubleshooting or liaison with a new provider may be charged separately unless expressly included.
OTTA may remove hosted data after the agreed termination and retention period. Customers should not assume that terminated hosting data will remain available indefinitely.
24. Consumer cancellation rights
Consumers may have a 14-day right to cancel.
If you are purchasing as a consumer through the website or another distance method, you normally have 14 days from the date the service contract is concluded to cancel without giving a reason.
You may ask OTTA to begin work or supply a service before the 14-day cancellation period has ended.
If you expressly request an early start and then cancel after work has begun but before the service has been completed, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied.
If a service is fully supplied during the cancellation period following your prior express consent and acknowledgement, the right to cancel may end once the service has been fully performed.
These provisions do not limit any mandatory consumer rights that apply under Irish or other applicable consumer law.
25. How to cancel
Send OTTA a clear cancellation request.
To cancel an eligible order or service, email [email protected].
Please include:
- Your full name
- Your business or organisation name
- Your order or proposal reference, where available
- The service concerned
- The date of the agreement
- A clear statement that you wish to cancel
Example cancellation wording
I hereby give notice that I wish to cancel my contract for [service name], agreed on [date]. My name is [name], my business is [business name] and my reference number is [reference number].
26. Refunds and service problems
Refunds depend on the circumstances.
If OTTA cannot provide an ordered service, the relevant payment will be refunded.
Where a valid consumer cancellation applies, any refund due will normally be made through the original payment method within the period required by law.
If authorised work or service supply has already begun during the cancellation period, a lawful proportionate deduction may apply for the service already supplied.
If a delivered review, project or hosting service does not match the agreed description, contact OTTA and explain the problem. OTTA will assess an appropriate correction, clarification, completion of missing agreed work, price reduction, termination or refund as required by the agreement and applicable law.
Nothing in these terms removes a statutory remedy available to a consumer.
27. Customer responsibilities
You remain responsible for your business and website content.
You are responsible for the legality, accuracy and ongoing business use of your website, content, products, services and customer communications.
You are also responsible for:
- Keeping contact and billing information current
- Using strong passwords and protecting account access
- Maintaining valid licences for paid themes and plugins
- Providing lawful privacy and cookie information
- Responding to customer and data-protection requests
- Informing OTTA about material changes to the website
- Retaining original copies of important business content
OTTA does not guarantee a particular commercial, search-ranking, traffic, security, uptime or performance outcome.
28. Customer content
You must have permission to use supplied content.
For website projects and hosted websites, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use any text, photographs, logos, trademarks, videos, software, databases or other material you provide.
OTTA is not responsible for checking ownership or licensing of customer-supplied material unless this is specifically included in the agreed scope.
Ownership and usage rights for custom website deliverables may be further defined in the relevant project proposal.
29. Third-party services
Some services depend on external providers.
Websites and hosting services may rely on external providers such as data centres, hosting platforms, domain registrars, payment processors, DNS providers, plugins, themes, email providers, cloud services and software projects.
OTTA does not control the availability, pricing, policies, compatibility, security incidents or future changes of third-party services.
OTTA will use reasonable care in selecting and working with providers but cannot guarantee that a third-party service will remain continuously available or unchanged.
Unless expressly included, third-party subscriptions, licences, domains and transaction fees are the customer’s responsibility.
30. Payments
Payment terms depend on the service.
Written reviews are normally paid through the OTTA online checkout.
Website project payments are made according to the stages and amounts stated in the written project proposal.
Hosting services are paid according to the agreed monthly or annual billing period.
Payment providers process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.
OTTA will never ask you to send payment-card details by email or through an intake form.
31. Limits of responsibility
Liability is not excluded where the law does not allow it.
OTTA will provide agreed services with reasonable care and skill.
OTTA is not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate customer information, undisclosed systems, customer actions, unsupported software, third-party outages, unlawful content, compromised customer credentials or circumstances outside OTTA’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
32. Statutory rights
Your legal consumer rights are not excluded.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts a consumer right or business liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
These terms are intended to be read together with applicable Irish law and any mandatory consumer protection that applies to the customer.
33. Contact
Questions before ordering are welcome.
Contact OTTA before ordering if you are unsure whether a service, website project or hosting plan is suitable.
